Pokupharma Limited is a limited liability company registered under the companies code 1963(Acts 179). Having complied with the provisions of companies’ code, it commenced business on 5th March, 1998 to supply pharmaceutical products under the pharmacy act 1994(Act 489) section 30 and 31.
Operations started at Asafo near the Ahmadiyya Mosque where it started as a wholesaler and later expanded as a nationwide drug distributor with Aryton drugs manufacturing company as its supplier. Here, Pokupharma operated from two small offices with 10 trucks for its distribution.
In 2005, the company widened its scope by registering a sister company called Marina Chemist Limited to supply manufacturing drugs other than that from Aryton Drugs manufacturing company.
However, in 2011, Pokupharma limited and Marina chemist Limited merged as on company to create a stronger bond in the distribution business and to add Pharmaceutical drugs manufacturing to their line of business.
Our Mission
- Expansion
Due to our thirst for expansion to meet our ever growing objectives, the company which was formerly located at Kumasi Asafo near Ahmadiyya mosque relocated to Fumesua, into the former world vision premises directly opposite the crop research institute.
This signified a growth in the company’s capital through its provision of quality and result giving pharmaceutical products, hard work and devotion. It is also an indication of the company’s seriousness in the appropriation of funds for the right and intended purposes.
Having acquired a manufacturing License after satisfying all requirements named under section 16 of the PNDC law 305B (the Food And Drugs Board Law), and registering under the Registers General Department, Pokupharma Limited is a proud manufacturer of a number of Pharmaceutical products on its premises.

This is a state of the art WHO-GMP facility which when completed, will be one of the best in the sub region in terms of clean environment for the manufacture of beta lactams.Contract is already awarded and construction of civil structure have started already.

- Our Operational Areas
Our market share cannot be measured without our dependable customers located throughout the country. In order to satisfy them, a distribution network has been designed to cover the entire country. Our vans numbering over thirty (30) ensure that our products over 100 reach all the pharmacy and chemical sellers within the country. From north to south, east and west, within Ghana, our pharmaceutical products are always available.
- In Future
In future, Pokupharma seeks to manufacture pharmaceutical products for other pharmaceutical distribution companies through affiliation with international pharmaceutical companies.
We also hope to distribute our quality pharmaceutical products throughout the African continent. A preparation for this is underway, as necessary documentations and certificates are being made.

Our main objective is to manufacture and distribute quality, affordable and result providing pharmaceutical products to meet the pockets of the minimum income earning Ghanaian and African as a whole.
